How to play tankmash
tankmash is a free top down tank game in the browser, on a desktop or a phone. No account, no download. It has three modes: a campaign of wave defence, Classic stages, and a deathmatch called Last tank standing.
Campaign
Fifty levels of three waves, the same for all. Clear one to open the next.
Enemy tanks come for your base in waves. Break every wave and the base is held. If they destroy the base, or every one of your tanks is scrap, the level is lost. Between waves you choose one of three cards. The ladder is the difficulty: the levels get harder as they climb.
Classic
Endless stages, twenty tanks each.
Four on the field at once, no last stage. The flashing one drops a pickup.
Clear a stage and the next one starts. The run ends when the base falls or your lives run out. Match setup sets the difficulty, Easy, Normal or Hard, and the seed, and the same seed deals the same stages.
Last tank standing
Two to eight tanks on one map, no teams.
Everyone for themselves. Last one in wins.
The other tanks are driven by the game. Match setup picks the map (Small, Standard or Large), the number of tanks (2, 4, 6 or 8), lives each (1, 2 or 3), the difficulty and the hull everyone drives.

Touch
On a phone: drive with the left stick, aim with the right, buttons for the rest.
Hulls
F boards a hull in reach, so an enemy tank can become yours. In Last tank standing everyone starts in the hull chosen in Match setup.
- Standard: three hits, a cannon, nothing to learn.
- Heavy: shrugs off light guns, slow enough to catch.
- Bike: one hit kills it. Nothing can catch it.
- Mortar: lobs over walls. Helpless up close.
- Copter: over water and walls. Only the HQ stops it.
- Jeep: one hit, a cannon, outruns all but the bike.
- Random: a different hull each, dealt off the seed.
